My practice takes architecture as its subject matter, involving collage, painting, and projection to form a ‘spatial collage’. A ‘spatial collage’ ties the projections, paintings and collages with the space it sits. I use line to stretch the work beyond the two-dimensional plane and question its place within the space. I am currently working with abstracted architectural forms developed from Budapest’s cityscape within the site-specific space of my basement. Here a dialogue is created between the absent and present to form material ‘echoes’ throughout my work. The echoes are the abstracted architectural forms; cut outs and photograms, projected into the space to form a new layer in my collages.
