In today’s digital and damaged world, my practice brings light and humour to some of the world’s most (and least) pressing issues.

At the forefront of my practice is my work in photography, both analogue and digital. Without fail my work will begin with a photograph, with all that follows stemming from that initial source. Often the initial capture will be taken on 35mm film, and later edited digitally. I choose to shoot in film due to the rawness and roughness of the final image, which I find gives more scope to later experiment with. Since my work is politically, socially, and personally motivated, my first image sources are typically of an event.

In order to then draw out humour from these events, I move to the world of digital illustration; comically re-representing the scenes, and oftentimes adding satirical text and commentary. In many cases I will also create a video, or an animation in order to heighten the playful aspect, and experimental style of digital work.

My practice is directly influenced by the modern world, and reflects an image of the catastrophic, the concerning, and the unimportant and useless moments which we see happening around us, in an unapologetically honest manner.

I hope you enjoy.
