Ruby Blanchard

My work helplessly stands as an analogy of me and the things that have happened in my life. I like to ask myself the question, Where do you come from? It would be fair to say my work is naturally predisposed to the highly critical dialogue of London’s art world- I am constantly seeking new ways for my work to connect. My recent paintings focus on the deep rooted feelings towards my home. Not necessarily a specific address but more who I am, who I am not, and the things, places and people in which I have experienced throughout my time being alive. These are what constitute my origins. I also like to think about the young people of north London, my friends and the things we go through.
