Exploring the animosity and anxiety hidden within childhood photographs, that impact my memories and ultimately the work I produce in response. Nostalgic photographs trigger a reflection on my memories and dictate how my art becomes this emotional visual display. In a sense I am turning the non-visual into visual. I am competing with emotions from this snapshot photo and emotions that I feel reflecting on it, and this is what my painting and sketches concern. It is hard to deal with two contrasting thoughts and this fusion of emotions is translated in my automatic movement with oil paint.
